The below "Social Trends" album presents the long term social trends in a humorous way. We had shared this observation and concern in various articles of ours, and see below is the link to one of those articles that we had published several years back.
This is also part of the reason for creating a separate section here in this platform revolving around "Family and Family values".
Is this trend unique to US?
Not at all.
In this global interconnected and commercialized world, fashionable things catch the attention first, trends and spreads faster, and that appears to be the case with this social trend in many parts of the world.
As we pointed out years back, we see these trends even in collectivistic societies such as, Taiwan and S. Korea. For that matter, we see this trend becoming more prevalent even in societies with longer collectivistic cultures such as, India and China.
Should we change the trend going back to family values?
No one can force changes into a changing society, but by law of numbers, going or retaining the family values not only address several dysfunctionalities that currently exist in the society, but also help in addressing the grave concern of managing resources with growing population, thus indirectly helping on the climate change front as well.
